Tyler turns 5!!!

Well what has seemed like the unending party has finally come to a close. Tyler celebrated his 5th birthday today. I swear it was yesterday when I was waking Marshall up at 4:30 a.m. to take me to the hospital. I can't believe all the monumental changes the past five years have brought to our family. We have two amazing children, we are finally settled in the home we hope to grow old in, Marshall is happy with his job and loving being his own boss, I am trying my best to become a domestic goddess (I struggle daily with this but I am still trying), and I think we have finally found a church home. Life is good.
Tyler really is an amazing young man. He has a smile that is going to help him get away with way more than he should in life, he is smart as a whip, and I gotta tell you-- I am seriously thinking he may just wind up being a left handed slugger that supports his mom and dad in retirement.=)
We had a great day today. This morning I went for a run and Marshall and the kids met me at the end for a Starbucks treat. We then went home and got cleaned up and went to church. After lunch and naps Tyler and Marshall headed to the driving range--where as you can see he was in his element.
When they got home Tyler got to open presents---a new two wheel scooter and a Nerf gun----I have tried to avoid guns but living in a neighborhood of ALL boys has caused me to cave to peer pressure!
After presents we went out to dinner-----yes we ate bean burritos!=)
It was a great day and Tyler told me he felt very special---that made my heart smile=)
Happy Birthday Pumpkin Head--you are my favorite boy in the world and I love you, love you, love you!!!!

Tyler and Emma's Birthday Carnival

I decided to do a combined birthday party this year. We have way more boys around us so instead of doing another boy princess party for Emma like we did last year, we all agreed that a carnival theme party would be great for one and all!
I hate to admit this but we were so busy doing the party that we really didn't get all that many pictures.
Even without tons of photographic evidence I am pretty sure that the kids will remember this party for a very long time. They had an absolute blast!
Here are a few highlights of the day's festivities.
Each box contained a box of animal crackers. The kids then used the box to store their carnival prizes. They also used it to hold their candy from the pinata.
The ice creme cone cupcakes were a BIG hit!
We had a jumping castle, five different carnival games (with prizes awarded=) and a popcorn machine.
Even with all of that fun and excitement the kids still had time to play golf, love on Winnie, and manage to drag out every single toy we own!
I heard two different children at two different times say, "Mom, THAT was an AWESOME party!" Even though it was crazy, totally chaotic and unbelievably messy it was all worth it because Tyler and Emma made memories that will last a lifetime. Oh yeah...and they think their mom ROCKS!!!!!!

Happy Easter

We had such a great Easter weekend! On Saturday we went to our favorite children's store, Mildred & Dildred, and decorated an Easter Bag then hunted for eggs.
After we left there we stopped by for a quick visit with the Easter Bunny.
Saturday evening we colored and decorated eggs.
After going through our Easter Baskets this morning we went to church then spent the remainder of the day with our second family, The Valenzuela Family, at the park. Sadly, I forgot the camera so no park pics this year.
It sure was a wonderful Easter weekend!

They ALL want to ROCK!

We had a play date with Tyler's buddy, Drew, the other day. They had a great time pretending to be Rock Stars!

T-Ball season

It is T-Ball season again! This time Tyler has a really great coach that pitches to him instead of having him hit off of the T. The first ball he hit in the game this weekend was a line drive into the coach's belly so I am thinking coach might start paying a little more attention when little red is up to bat!=)

Tyler has a few buddies from school on his team. I got these great pics of Tyler and his friend Ever after Ever came in to home plate. What started off as a high five turned into a slap in face----thankfully everyone just laughed if off=)
